CPD TRAINING
Staff are supported to undertake training throughout their time at Castlegate, and to bring their learning back to influence their practice and bring benefit to the children’s learning and development. All staff are qualified to a minimum SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, or are supported to work toward this after starting at Castlegate. Staff also have core training in Child Protection, First Aid, Infection Control, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.
Every Autumn we host an inservice day where we cover key development areas for the team, often from our annual improvement plan. We also put a lot of resource into building the leadership skills of staff, so that they are supported to process in their roles while they work at Castlegate – we love to see the children flourish during their time with us, and feel exactly the same about seeing the staff flourish too!
